In this forum, sound designer Alexander Würtz (Arri Media) explains the sound concept for the successful Netflix series using numerous examples. Dark tells the story of four families who, after the disappearance of a child, embark on a desperate search for answers and the solution of a mystery spanning three generations. In Dark real and supernatural events are interwoven, which is also reflected in the sound. The sound of apocalyptic scenarios and the sound of different locations and landscapes (Wasteland, Episode 10) also play an important role here.
Alexander Würtz is a German sound designer. He created the sound design of Jim Knopf, Lommbock and Nebel in August. For his work as sound designer and sound editor for the film The Dark Valley by Andreas Prochaska he was awarded the German and the Austrian Film Prize.
