John Groves is known for having created a structured system for the development of sound identities, which is now referred to as Sound Branding.
Content of the FORUM: The Power of Sound and Music to control our minds, focuses on the perspective of the listener and examines the effect that sound and music has on our memory, our emotions, and on our health. Besides the associative effects that music has on our memories, the fundamental characteristics of sound - such as frequency and vibrations - can also have a significant affect on us. This session demonstrates how a structured systems can help us to effectively use sound and music for shaping thinking processes and steering perception. As well as describing the Sound Branding process, John Groves will talk about his recent work in healthcare, which includes: Auditory navigation for medical equipment, Healing Soundscapes in hospitals, and the development of Receptive Sound Therapy programs for improving sleep, managing stress, anxiety and more (www.sonictonic.io) and will explain why this information is relevant for film and music composers.
